Hambright Has Heart

Hambright Elementary School collected 164 dollars to give to an organization called Heavenly Hats.

Heavenly Hats provides hats for children who have lost their hair because of cancer.

The students and teachers paid 50 cents each to wear a hat to school on Friday, February 25th.

What a great way to give to a worthy cause and look great at the same time 🙂

Parent Workshops on November 17th and November 18th!

We have two great opportunities to attend  parent workshops next week!   On Wednesday night, November 17th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm we have a workshop for our 2nd graders and their parents called, “You Read to Me and I’ll Read to You.”  It is a wonderful opportunity to learn some great ways to help your child to become a more fluent reader.  Our next Parent-Child Workshop is entitled “Readers Are Winners!” and will be held on November 18th from 6:30-7:30 pm.  We are inviting kindergarten and first grade families to join us for this very special night of fun and learning.  This workshop will provide parents with information and fun activities that can be used to help your child develop his or her reading skills.  This is just the first of many fun evenings we have planned for this school year so stay tuned 🙂
