On Monday, June 18th, the Penn Manor School Board approved Dr. Melissa Mealy as the new assistant principal at Hambright Elementary School. Welcome to Hambright, Dr. Mealy!
Dear Hambright Families and Community,
It is a great honor to be joining the Hambright team as the new assistant principal! I have been working in the Penn Manor School District since 2005. I began my career as a high school English teacher, and most recently served the district as the English Language Arts K – 12 Supervisor. Working in all schools across the district has given me a tremendous respect for the education our students receive here at Penn Manor.
I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Millersville University. With the support and encouragement of my family and the Penn Manor administration, I obtained my doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2016 from Immaculata University. My husband, Todd, and I have two children, Carter (4) and Adeline (1).
My passion for and commitment to education and the Penn Manor School District has been shaped throughout my life. As the daughter of two educators and a former Comet myself, I understand the positive impact of a great education and a great school. It is through the collaborative efforts of students, parents, and staff that we ensure the success of Hambright students.
I cannot wait to become part of the Hambright family and look forward to the opportunity to get to know the entire Hambright community!
