The American Heart Association’s annual Jump Rope for Heart (JRFH) Jump Party will take place during the week of February 22nd-29th in your student’s regular PE timeslot. JRFH is a special rope-jumping event program that offers children an opportunity to engage in community service by raising money to fund lifesaving research and educational programs. Students will receive a JRFH collection envelope during PE class. When this collection envelope is brought home, students may begin asking family and friends to support their participation by making contributions. In addition to the collection envelope, the children may raise funds online by logging onto: www.heart.org/jump
Should your child collect cash, please keep it until ready to return and SUBMIT ONE CHECK for the TOTAL DOLLAR AMOUNT raised. Checks should be made payable to “American Heart Association”. Please note that this is NOT a mandatory event for students. Children/families may choose to participate or decline involvement in the fundraising program. That said, all students will be participating in a special “Jump Party” event, which will be held in the gymnasium at Hambright Elementary during their regular PE time, regardless of monetary contributions to the JRFH program. If your student wishes to participate in the JRFH program, please complete and return the permission slip that is attached to the collection envelope, ASAP. All funds collected must be sealed in the collection envelope and returned to Mrs. Barnett no later than February 29th, 2016. The purpose of this celebration is to educate your student about the importance of keeping their heart healty and jumping rope is fun, and an easy way to achieve this goal. On Monday, February 29th we will be having a celebration with students who participated in this event. Grades 3rd-6th from 3:30-5:00 in the gymnasium here at Hambright.
Thank you so much for your support,
Mrs. Mary Barnett – Phys. Ed.
