Hambright’s new principal

Last night the school board voted and approved, Eric Howe as Hambright’s new principal.  Below is a letter that is going home today from Mr. Howe.

April 21, 2015

Dear Hambright Families,

I am tremendously honored to have the opportunity to work with you and the Hambright Community.  I have been fortunate to be a part of the Penn Manor School District for the past thirteen years.  I have been a high school social studies teacher, social studies department coordinator, a varsity and junior high wrestling coach and most recently my current position as a high school assistant principal.

I was born and raised in Lancaster County.  I grew up in Lancaster City and graduated from Lampeter-Strasburg High School.  After graduation, I joined the United States Marine Corps and served proudly from 1994-1998.  I graduated from Millersville University in 2002, and was hired by the Penn Manor School District as a social studies teacher at the high school. I have been married for eighteen years to my wonderful wife, Adrienne, and together we have two great children.  We have a fourteen-year-old daughter, Alexis, and an eleven-year-old son, Eric.  They are the highlight of our lives.

I cannot express how grateful I am to have the opportunity to be a part of the Hambright Community.  I look forward to working with all of you and building positive relationships that will make our community great. Together, I believe that we can continue to provide our students with the best possible opportunities available to them.  Thank you and I look forward to being a part of the Hambright family starting the 2015-2016 school year.

Sincerely,

Eric Howe
