Hambright Elementary was Named a Distinguished Title One School

There are 3292 public schools in Pennsylvania and of that number 73%, or 2403 schools, are considered federal Title I schools. This week we received a letter from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE.) We have been notified that Hambright has been designated as a “Distinguished School.” It is one of only 113 Title I schools in Pennsylvania to receive this designation for 1) making annual yearly progress (AYP) for two consecutive years, and 2) for having students who met high improvement performance criteria in a subgroup for making gains in proficiency of greater than 25%. They are being recognized for significant gains in their IEP subgroup. Hambright will be recognized at the annual Title I conference in Pittsburgh in January.

Congratulations to all of Hambright for this honor! Only two other districts, Donegal and Solanco, have a school that is being recognized for this honor.
