Welcoming in the New Year!

What a busy school year so far!  In December alone, the Brush Brush Bus visited Hambright and provided free dental care to nine students, the 4th grade chorus entertained at a neighboring nursing home and did a great job of lifting the residents’ spirits, Hambright chorus and band performed an evening show for parents, friends, and other students.  In addition our kindergartners also entertained their families with a Christmas concert, and the 6th graders participated in a Ellis Island simulation at the same time that Miss Arnold’s 5th grade class was having a Career Day.  At Hambright a dull day never happens.  Each day new opportunities to grow and learn always emerge, and January promises to be just as exciting.  For starters we will welcome Dr. Egan back from his sabbatical!  He will be returning on January 20th just as I head off to Eshleman and Letort to cover for a Mrs. Strosser, who is currently on a maternity leave.  Mrs. Tappany will remain as counselor here at Hambright until I return in March.  Speaking of comings and goings, Mrs. Wagner will be leaving on an educational sabbatical in January, and Mrs. Tonya Goss will be taking her place for the rest of the school year.  I have really enjoyed being the Hambright’s principal and want to thank everyone for making this such a wonderful experience.
